Site Updates

A fully-fledged portfolio website is under development thereby separating out the blog from the portfolio. To begin this transition there are going to be a few site updates. Today I’ve added a flickr stream page as well as updates to the matte painting portfolio page. And many more changes are in the works. Stay tuned!

A Little Quiet / UniSA Open Day

-->

Things have been a little quiet around here lately simply because I’ve been working on far too many projects for my own good and I have been lacking a bearable internet connection for almost two months. However, now these things have been sorted, there will be an onslaught of posts in the coming weeks clearing out the backlog of photography and points of interest, as well as a new portfolio website and prints becoming available over at redbubble.com.

Also, for those in Adelaide who would like to talk to me about anything film, television, photography or design related, I’ve been invited as a guest in the ComZone at the University of South Australia 2009 Open Day this Sunday (the 16th) afternoon at the City West campus.

Sunset

You just don’t get sunsets like this anywhere else. Us Australians are spoilt sometimes. Also available on Flickr.

Also; lots of updates to the photography portfolio section of this website today if you’d like to have a look…

Regular visitors may have noticed that the site has finally been updated to a unified design. Trimmed down, leaner and meaner. The portfolio has also been trimmed down and while I desperately want to put up some of my work from Australia, I can’t just yet.

I’ve also been testing the site for mobile device compatibility, which works quite well, although a mobile specific CSS would be nice… iPhone users should check out the showreel to see some nice integration in action.

The update to this website that was – in theory – going to take a weekend has taken longer than originally thought. The idea was to convert my entire website over to Wordpress and merge the blog and portfolio in a nice, streamlined design that allows for quick and easy navigation and encourages me to update my portfolio more regularly. The stumbling block was not wanting to rely on a third party plugin to manage images, as the one I have used previously hasn’t kept up with the Wordpress development cycle, meaning that it didn’t quite work… Of course, the built-in media manager turns out to have a lot of short-comings that aren’t immediately obvious.

To make a long story short, please be patient while the website is gradually reconstructed over the next few weeks. My portfolio can still be accessed here.
