Solar Flare

-->

solar-flare_1024

I’ve been really quite ill for the last week with the flu. Couldn’t even summon up the energy to pick up the wacom pen. So it was nice to do something creative for a few hours this afternoon.

Alternative title considered; (in Bender’s voice) “Well, we’re boned”

Sketch; Sunset

I am currently going back to basics to work on my illustration and composition skills and will post some of the results here under the new category of ’sketches’. Most will be experiments and most probably wont be fit for human consumption, but you might find them interesting.

‘Plastic’ Show and Tell

-->

The short film Plastic that I was involved with in 2007 went on earlier this year to win the award for best visual effects in a student film. This is very much a big deal and a big congratulations goes out to director Sandy Widyanata and producer Courtney Cox.

The Australian chapter of the Visual Effects Society will be having a show and tell night regarding Plastic talking about the technologies and techniques behind the making of the film.

Where: Theatre 1, AFTRS, 130 Bent St, Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, Sydney
When: Thursday 21st May, 6:30pm – 8pm

Places are limited to 120 seats and no RSVP is required.

I’ll be there along with the rest of the team and it should be a good night.

Knowing Portfolio Update

-->

Even though I am developing a entirely new portfolio website, eventually splitting the portfolio and blog entirely, I’ve uploaded some of the work that I did on Knowing. It can be viewed over in the matte painting section.
