Sydney

Things have been a little quiet around the site recently and probably will remain so for the next few months as production on Australia gets turned up to eleven. It’s good to be back in Sydney and the first few weeks have been a blast. There’s a series of photos up on flickr, but I haven’t really had much time to do too much with the photos…

Desert Storm

Desert Storm

Not really sure where I was heading with this one. Mostly an exercise focusing on the sky and the light.

Interview

This will be the last post before I pack things up and head off to Sydney. It’s an interview I did for the University of South Australia last year as a part of the school of communication’s 30th anniversary. I mentioned it when it was recorded, but never provided a link to the final result. Very nicely edited by Dan Lawrance and shot by Aaron Smith.

I Met the Walrus

Animal Logic

A few weeks ago I received an excited call from a very good friend saying that none other than Baz Luhrmann had seen some of my artwork and was interested in getting me to work on the upcoming outback war-time epic, Australia. To cut a long story short, I am extremely happy to say that I will be heading back to Sydney to work at Animal Logic in the closing months of post-production on Australia.

It’s an amazing opportunity that came out of the blue and soon I’ll have some work up on the big screen for the world to see. This is, I’ve realised just now, a slightly terrifying prospect.

But rather exciting, no? In celebration, I bought a new toy…
