Ghostly Swim

Maybe I’m becoming way too tight with money (ie: poor), or maybe it’s just that there is a lot of really good music coming out through online indie channels, yet recently I’ve found a bunch of pretty solid free albums that are available. Sure, they’re either samplers or remix albums, but they still make for interesting listening. One of these albums is a sampler from the Ghostly International label who deal in a lot of electronica. Not all the tracks are fantastic, but definitely worth a listen if you like the down-beat electronica thing.

Other free albums can be got from Stereogum, who have a lot of tribute albums, and there’s a few from Nine Inch Nails that I’ve written about previously.

Not really sure what I was going for here, but it was kind of interesting so I thought I would share. In other news, there may be some downtime on this website over the coming week(s) while I work on transitioning the entire site over to a Wordpress-based system, as I’m getting pretty tired of hand-coding the HTML on my portfolio every time I want to update something, so this will allow for a more frequently updated site. My days as a web designer are behind me.

Another free download from Nine Inch Nails (to go along with their previous release, The Slip). This time featuring support bands from their upcoming tour. Titled Lights in the Sky, it’s worth it just for the track We Are Rockstars by Does It Offend You, Yeah? I love the artwork that comes with the download, too…
