My New Favourite Show (MNFS) is the horrific, yet strangely amusing and intriguing, Dexter. Is it wrong to like a serial killer? You’re supposed to like the guy, but have this uneasiness constantly lurking while you watch the show over the fact that this is a “bad guy” pitched as a “good guy”. Or perhaps a “good guy” doing both good and bad things. It’s also an example of why American TV series should be 12 episodes, not 24, because there’s no padding.

PicLens is the coolest. Plugin. Ever. And it’s more than eye-candy - it makes browsing a lot of images quickly very efficient. I had installed it on my Powerbook previously, but there were a few stability issues. Now, however, on my new computer, it is the shizz.

I should point out that this sudden interest in really pushing textures in photographs came from seeing some photos by a photographer called Trey Ratcliff (aka Stuck in Customs) who does some interesting things with textures. He has a tutorial that comes with 100 or so super high-res textures, but at $500 USD, this is just a smidgen beyond my price-range…

The long awaited cool change rolled in on Tuesday, the oppressive heatwave finally dissipating having already set the duration record for any Australian capital city above 100°F (37.6°C) for thirteen days straight. Then tonight, as if to celebrate, we were given a stunning sunset; summer’s last hurrah. Soon it will hopefully start to feel like Autumn.
