That’s right – I lived through the tsunami warning of 2007. Tsunamis aside, I know I say this every time, but I’ve been busy, hence the lack of bloggy goodness. So finally I’ve got a night free to summarise the last couple of weeks.
Firstly, who are these two handsome people? Why, they look remarkably like my brother and sister! Matt got in last Thursday and Amy on the Friday, so on Thursday night Matt, me and Roger went out for a couple of drinks down by The Rocks (as well as had dinner at ‘City-Extra’ which was over-priced for what it was, and well, a place where the waiters all wear newspaper pattered shirts is always going to raise a few concerns…).
Amy, Matt and I went out on Friday night to some places around Darling Harbour. Saturday night we all went to the Semi-Permanent design conference after party where I ran into none other than Nick Deboar. We tutored together last year and Matt freakishly happened to sit down next to at the design conference the day before. Even more freakishly, Nick won the pixel freaks competition.
So in between these late nights I had a French fantasy film weekend where we watch some bizarre, but brilliant, French “fantasy” films from 10:00 – 5:00 on the Saturday and Sunday. By the end of the weekend I was in a very, very strange state-of-mind.
During the past fortnight we’ve been working with Andrew Silke on a character animation workshop – Andrew worked on Happy Feet – and it’s been a lot of fun. Everyone sits there and makes faces mouthing words trying to figure it out what they need to animate. Will upload some videos soon.
Other than that, there’s not a lot to tell. I’m going to be a tourist for ten days as of Friday and make the most of the Easter break. Talk to you all soon.
