Off to Sydney!

I recently applied for a position at the Australia Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in their Digital Media: Computer Animation and Visual Effects course. I am extremely happy to announce that I’ve been accepted into the full time course for 2007.

Of course, this will require a move to Sydney, which for me will be a large change of pace from living in the quiet Adelaide hills.

To go to AFTRS and follow in the footsteps of some rather large names that have come out of the Australian film and television industry will be quite a humbling experience. I am, however, immensely looking forward to working there and advancing my skills in the realm of digital media.

Cool Lightning Shots

Some rather cool shots of lightning from a storm that launched itself on Adelaide the other night. You don’t want to know how many shots it took to actually capture the lightning flashes! [More pics after the break]

Time For a Blog

Hi - if you’re here reading this blog, the chances are that you either know me or you are actually interested in the things that I say, which is a mighty scary thought. So if you don’t know who I am or what I do, you might want a bit of background first, so I’d suggest to check out my portfolio at surfacedetail.com (or, just click the ‘back to surface detail’ link in the navigation bar).

For everyone else; Hi, welcome - make yourself at home… No, not that at home… look, could you put that down? I paid a lot of money for that. And what are you doing in the fridge? I was going to eat that! Oh. That’s just great.
